Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the legal entity responsible for overseeing the affairs of the Institute and for managing financial policy.

Director

The Director, Associate Professor Phillip Darby, is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute and responsible for overseeing the Institute's programmes, scholarship and policies.


Associate Professor Phillip Darby

After some years at Oxford, Phillip now teaches in the Department of Political Science at the University of Melbourne where he is presently Reader in International Relations. His major publications are in strategic studies, imperial studies and Third World politics. His present interests include literature and postcolonialism.

Phillip is assisted by the Associate Director(s) as appointed from time to time.

Council

Council is the Institute's peak policy body and overesees academic programmes, events, publications, external linkages, facilities management, fundraising and future directions for the Institute.

Distinguished Visiting Scholars

The Inaugural Visiting Scholar of the Institute was Professor Ashis Nandy, Senior Fellow of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies in Delhi, India. Professor Nandy is also a Distinguished Fellow of the Institute.

Book Series Editorial Board

Journal Editorial Committee

House Committee

The House committee is responsible for the day to ay management of the Institute's premises. This comprises residential management of the postgraduate accommodation and Visiting Scholar's Apartment, facilities hiring and general building maintenance and management.

Student Group

The Student Group runs events and functions for the student members of the Institute. See the student group page for more information on forthcoming student activities.

Executive Staff
