IPCS School

Mixed dates

The IPCS School is an invitation to our community to come together in rigorous, relational anticolonial study. Affirming the essential role of collective study to building liberatory futures, the IPCS School offers six-week long short courses led by IPCS members, affiliates and the broader community.

The IPCS School sits within IPCS’ broader mission to build accessible and liberatory spaces for collective study that centre Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination, nurture collective knowledge-making, and foster global solidarities. The School is an opportunity to expand our offerings, deepen community participation, and support liberatory modes of study.

Writing Group

Thursdays, weekly, 11am-5pm

The IPCS Writing group was started by a small group of members who have been meeting in recent times on Thursdays at IPCS to think and work through various writing projects together. Whether it be for work, research, university, creative writing, organising, or pleasure, writing does not necessarily have to be a solitary activity.

From the group: We are committed to a liberatory politics for all, grounded in the enduring reality of Indigenous Sovereignty here and globally. Despite coming from various traditions of struggle and knowledges, we cohere around a shared commitment to create a space within IPCS for members to write together and share our work.

If you're keen to join feel free to send the group an email with a little bit about yourself and your writing interests to info@ipcs.org.au. You're also welcome to just turn up on Thursdays between 11am and 5pm to write alongside fellow IPCS members.

Critique of Political Economy Reading Group

Wednesdays, fortnightly, 6.00pm - 7.30pm

By “critique of economy” we have in mind a broad set of formations, figures, and framings, from “political economy” and “capital” to “imperialism” and “dependency”, running through Marxist analyses, the history of economic thought, economic sociology, and economic theology.

Shaping the reading program, in turn, is the desire to bring together the critique of economy, ecology, race, and decolonisation, into a generative register for praxis.

If you would like to join, reach out and write to Carlos Morreo and Sienna Rigazzi at info@ipcs.org.au, with a line or two on who you are and why you’re interested in joining.
